World’s Largest Social Cancer Network Launches New Group Exclusively for Caregivers

Direct Chats with Peers and Experts Help Educate Family and Friends of Cancer Patients, Providing Needed Information and Support

NEW YORK, New York – November 12, 2018 – Belong.Life, the world’s largest cancer social network, announced today the launch of a new caregivers group that will provide information, resources and support specifically tailored for the cancer caregivers community. The launch comes amid National Family Caregivers Month, celebrated each November, as a time to recognize and honor family caregivers across the U.S.

While approximately 20% of Belong’s more than 120,000 active international users are caregivers, the new caregivers group provides a central location for these individuals to access resources, network with one another, and receive personalized support for their unique informational and emotional needs. The new group is the latest addition within the Belong platform, which provides groups on virtually all cancer topics – including specific diseases, treatments, side effects, clinical trials, alternative and complementary medicine, sexuality, empowerment and more.

“Caring for someone with cancer, whether a family member or close friend, can be extremely demanding and requires crucial skills and know-how not always held by the caregiver,” said Eliran Malki, Co-founder and CEO of Belong. “Our app and caregivers group are an essential tool to help people through this challenging journey, providing critical information, tips and emotional support that shorten the learning curve and help improve decision making and treatment navigation.”

“The life of a caregiver changes considerably when a family member is diagnosed with cancer,” said Dr. Daniel Vorobiof, Chief Medical Officer of Belong. “It is crucial for caregivers to have somewhere to turn to and understand how the cancer journey develops, while taking into consideration the different and specific types and stages of cancer. This information, and the caregiver’s level of involvement can have a profound impact on the treatment and outcome of the patient. Belong is proud to leverage its global expertise to provide all of this in one location, helping to empower families and communities to work together to improve the lives of people with cancer.”

The free Belong app utilizes an advanced big data and proprietary machine learning platform to provide highly personalized information on a wide variety of cancer treatments, networking with other patients undergoing similar challenges, a direct link to world-renown oncologists and experts, clinical trial matching programs and tools to better manage files throughout their cancer journey.
