Belong is committed to creating a safe and positive community for all users, particularly young people. This Child Safety Standards Policy is intended to ensure adherence to the highest standards for protecting children and young people.
Objectives of this Child Safety Standards Policy
The Child Safety Standards Policy pursues several key objectives that Belong supports and actively implements.
We strictly prohibit behaviors and materials that endanger children. This includes (but is not limited to) any use of the Belong App which involves or may promote predatory behavior towards children, including behavior or materials that may exploit, abuse, or endangered children, or depiction of children in any materials involving the use of a minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct. Prohibited behaviors and materials include (without limitation) the following:
- Inappropriate interaction targeted at a child (for example, groping or caressing).
- Child grooming (for example, befriending a child online to facilitate, either online or offline, sexual contact and/or exchanging sexual imagery with that child).
- Sexualization of a minor (for example, imagery that depicts, encourages or promotes the sexual abuse of children or the portrayal of children in a manner that could result in the sexual exploitation of children).
- Sextortion (for example, threatening or blackmailing a child by using real or alleged access to a child’s intimate images).
- Trafficking of a child (for example, advertising or solicitation of a child for commercial sexual exploitation).
Belong supports and actively implements the following measures in the Belong App and online assets to ensure Child Safety:
- Age Verification. Registration on this app is restricted to users aged 18 and above. Users must indicate their age upon registration. If we become aware of incorrect age information, the account will be immediately blocked.
- Compliance with Child Safety Laws. Our app complies with applicable child safety laws and regulations.
- Reporting System: Users can report harmful content within our app. Once content has been reported by different users, it is automatically blocked until manually reviewed.
- Content Security
Community Moderation System: Our tech moderation system, and moderators ensures that harmful or development-impairing content can be identified and as such will be promptly removed, and does not remain publicly visible for long.
Images and Videos: Our team randomlyreviews publicly published images and videos and is dedicated to removing harmful or inappropriate content when necessary. In addition, new users are restricted from public uploads for the first several hours.
