We are proud to announce the opening of a group which specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and tracking of malignant diseases of the female genitalia: endometrial cancer, cervical cancer, ovarian cancer and vaginal cancer.
The group will be managed by Prof. Dan Grisaru, the head of the gyneco-oncology department at the Sourasky medical Center.
In the group, he is joined by Prof. Tamar Safra, director of gynecology oncology services and Dr. Ido Laskov, a senior gyneco-oncology doctor at the gyneco-oncology unit at the Sourasky Medical Center.
Prof. Grisaru and Dr. Laskov will focus on providing answers concerning the diagnosis, monitoring and treatment options for surgical, whether traditional or minimally invasive (laparoscopic and robotic) and Prof. Safra will focus on radiation therapy, chemotherapy and novel treatments (biological and immunotherapy) including those under clinical studies carried out worldwide.
A few words about the medical experts that will be answering questions in this group:
Prof. Dan Grisaru is the director of the gynecologic oncology unit at the Sourasky Medical Center. He completed his gynecologic training at TAMC and his PhD thesis in molecular biology and human genetics at the TA University. His clinical fellowship was done at the University of Toronto, Canada. He established the gynecologic oncology service at the Sourasky Medical Center. This unit is based on a multidisciplinary clinical and surgical approach to the patients. In addition to the clinical work they also perform basic science research, together with other scientists at the hospital and at the TA University.
Prof. Tamar Safra heads the Oncology Gynecology Service at the Sourasky Medical Center, treating patients diagnosed with Gynecological and Breast Cancer.
She is a graduate of the Hadassah Medical School.
She has specialized in Medical Oncology and Radiotherapy and spent three years as a faculty member at the University of Southern California at the Norris Cancer Center, Los Angeles.
Her main Interest is BRCA Breast and Ovarian cancer, inheritance and disease treatment.
Dr. Ido Laskov completed 6 years of residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Sourasky Medical Center and then completed a 3-year research & clinical sub-specialty in Gynecologic Oncology at the McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
His training includes medical management of women with gynecological malignancies and he specializes in performing complex oncologic surgeries including pelvic, abdominal, laparoscopic and robotic surgeries. Currently Dr. Ido Laskov works at the Gynecologic Oncology unit of the Sourasky Medical Center.
