A new Neurosurgical Med group led by Dr. Leonardo Lustgarten

Announcing a New Neurosurgical Med group!

Here at Belong, we listen to your requests and do everything we can to help you in your fight against cancer.  We are building an ecosystem of knowledge and support that is relevant and personalized to your needs, to help you on your journey.

The new group will be managed by Dr. Leonardo Lustgarten who is a neurosurgeon with 20 years of experience.

Being diagnosed with a brain tumor or brain metastasis is challenging, and choosing a treatment is not easy. It is important to know that there are several options to treat these lesions and the best treatment course should be determined while considering factors such as the patient’s clinical condition, the tumor type, size, location, previous treatments, concurrent morbidities, etc.

In this group, Dr. Lustgarten will answer questions regarding surgical and non-surgical treatments for brain tumors, radiosurgery for primary and metastatic lesions, management protocols, etc.

Dr.  Lustgarten studied medicine at the Medical School in Caracas, Venezuela and specialized in Neurosurgery both in Venezuela and at the Radcliffe Infirmary, UK (University of Oxford) under the sponsorship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the General Medical Council (UK).

Dr. Lustgarten has a special interest in adult and pediatric brain tumors. He performs Microsurgery as well as Radiosurgical procedures for primary and metastatic brain tumors (with both LINAC and Gamma knife).

He was an active member in various ethical committees and editorial boards. He is a member of various neurosurgical societies and has been an advisor and a neurosurgical consultant to various institutions.

We thank Dr. Lustgarten for his support and willingness to manage dialogues and conversations with patients and provide Belong users with answers in his field of expertise.
